Sparingo terms of use

Effective from: · Wersja polska. If the versions differ, the Polish one prevails.

1. Who provides the service

The Sparingo app is provided by Paweł Kawalec, ul. Dwie Topole 24A, 21-040 Kalinówka, Poland, e-mail: kawalec@gmail.com (“we”). This address is also the point of contact for users and authorities under the Digital Services Act (DSA). You can write in Polish or English.

2. What Sparingo is

Sparingo helps you find sports activities and partners to play with nearby. In the app you can:

  • browse activities as a list and on a map, sign up for them and organise your own,
  • talk to activity participants and to partners who accepted a game proposal,
  • look for one-to-one partners and send them proposals,
  • rate people you played with and see other people's ratings,
  • get notifications about your activities.

Using Sparingo is free. Costs an organiser enters for an activity (e.g. court rental) are settled between you outside the app — Sparingo is not involved.

Sparingo does not organise meetings. We connect people who want to play — activities are organised by users, who are responsible for them.

3. What you need

  • a phone with Android 8.0 or newer and internet access,
  • a Sparingo account — created with an e-mail and password or with a Google account,
  • to be at least 18 years old.

The agreement to use the app is concluded when you create an account and lasts until you delete it.

4. Your account

  • Give true information — in particular your date of birth.
  • One account per person. Do not share it and keep your password safe.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by writing to us. This ends the agreement.

5. Meeting in person — safety

Sparingo is for arranging to meet people you often do not know. We do not verify users' identities and have no control over what happens when you meet. So:

  • meet in public places, especially the first time,
  • tell someone close to you where and with whom you are meeting,
  • look at ratings and the no-show rate — they are there to help you decide,
  • if someone worries you, report and block them — in the app it takes one tap.

Sport carries a risk of injury. Judge your own abilities and health. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for how meetings go or for users' behaviour outside the app. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer by law.

6. Rules on content and behaviour

You are responsible for what you publish: activities, messages, ratings, your photo. Publishing illegal content is prohibited, and in particular:

  • harassment, threats, insults and discrimination,
  • sexual or vulgar content,
  • fake activities, impersonating others, spam and scams,
  • other people's personal data without their consent,
  • ads and commercial offers — except for describing the cost of the activity itself.

It is also prohibited to get around blocks or suspensions (e.g. by creating a new account), to sign up for activities with no intention of attending, or to manipulate ratings.

By publishing content in the app you allow us to store it and show it to other users as far as needed for Sparingo to work. This permission ends when the content is removed, subject to the periods in the privacy policy.

7. Reports and moderation

You can report any person, activity, message or rating comment in the app (the “⋯” button or by pressing and holding a message). Reports are confidential — the person reported is never told who sent it. You can also report content by e-mail to the address in section 1; say what it is and why you believe it is not allowed.

Reports are reviewed by a person, not an automated system. After review we may:

  • leave the content, if it does not break the rules,
  • remove the content or cancel the activity,
  • suspend the account — temporarily or indefinitely, for serious or repeated breaches.

If our decision concerns you, we will tell you about it and the reasons for it. You can appeal by writing to the address in section 1 within 6 months — we will review the appeal and reply with our reasons.

Regardless of reports, you can block anyone: you stop seeing each other in the app, and the blocked person is not notified.

8. Ads

The app may show ads from local partners, always labelled “Sponsored”. They are matched to what you are looking at (sport, area), not to your profile. Tapping one opens the advertiser's page in your browser; the advertiser is responsible for its content and offer.

9. Complaints

If something in the app does not work as it should, write to kawalec@gmail.com: what happened and when. We will reply within 14 days.

10. Changes and final provisions

  • We may develop and change the app and — with notice — shut it down.
  • We will tell you about changes to these terms in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
  • Polish law applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection given to you by the laws of the country where you live.
